Trust Him in the Impossible Moments

This last weekend, we imagined ourselves being with Jesus as He walked us to the Garden of Gethsemane.  Being one of the few with Him in those last few peaceful moments of His earthly life.

One of the things we heard Jesus say is that, "Life is going to be difficult, but fear not, for I have overcome the world."

And in the middle of explaining that, He told us that He was going to send us the Holy Spirit to help us and do the hard work of redemptive transformation.  He would do the convicting and witnessing and glorifying.  All we had to do was surrender to His guidance and trust Him in the Impossible moments.

Anyone who has lived has experienced a moment like that.  A moment when life's circumstances seem to present a scenario where trusting God's plan, timing, and purpose may seem impossible.

"I can't wait any longer"
"I trust Him, I just don't trust my step-dad anymore."
"Every medical test and rational explanation says this is the end."
"This is impossible."

What makes faith, well... faith... is trusting God.  There is no more practical, important, hopeful place to trust God than in the impossible moments.

We just need to make sure we are trusting Him for where He is leading.  Jesus said that when the Holy Spirit came, He would guide us into all truth.  Sometimes, we don't like to be led into the truth though.  We want to be led into what we hoped was truth.

It does no good to trust Him to accomplish what I want, when He may be saying, "I have something else in mind.  That is not what I want for you right now."

I hope you are not in an impossible moment right now, but remember these few things if you are, or for when you may be in the future:

"Take heart, for I have overcome the world"  (It can't get the best of you, because you belong to Him and He is the winner already).  John 16:3
"God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."  (It can't get the best of you because you belong to Him and He has a purpose for you other than the impossibility.)  Romand 8:28
"The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth." (If you surrender to His guidance, you will see the truth of His purpose made clear eventually.)  John 16:13

God is too good to be a fair-weather God.  He is always God and He is always good - even in the Impossible moments.  Take Courage, because He has overcome the world.  He is with you to guide you.

With you for His glory,
